Pads, rotors, calipers, brake lines and a full fluid flush. We measure pad thickness in front of you and show you the old parts before they go in the van — no "you needed all four corners" without evidence.
A code reader tells you a number. We tell you what the number means on your car, which of the four possible causes is actually likely, and what it costs to fix each one. You get the scan report printed or texted to you either way.
The three reasons a car clicks instead of starting, and the only three we need to check. If it's the battery we usually have the right group size in the van; starters and alternators are sourced the same day and fitted on the second visit.
Full synthetic oil and filter change in your parking spot, with the waste oil taken away and recycled. We log the mileage and date on a sticker for the door jamb so your service history stays intact for resale.
We meet you at the seller's address anywhere in Etobicoke, Mississauga or west Toronto and go through the car properly before money changes hands: rust in the rockers, frame condition, fluid colours, tire dates, scan history, and whether the "safety" the seller is promising will actually pass.
That clunk over the Dundas streetcar tracks, the shimmy at 100 on the 427, the pull to the right — we road-test with you, then get it on stands and find the actual worn part instead of replacing the whole front end.
Overheating on the Gardiner is how a $300 job becomes a $3,000 head gasket. If the temperature gauge is climbing, stop and call — we'll come to where the car is sitting rather than have you limp it home.
Getting a used car ready for an Ontario safety certificate, or just a list of small things that have piled up. We'll tell you plainly which items are required and which the shop is padding.
The process
Tell us the year, make, model and what the car is doing — noise, light, smell, or nothing at all. We'll ask a few questions and give you a straight answer about whether it's a driveway job or something that genuinely needs a shop with a lift.
You get a price range and a call-out fee up front, on the phone, before anyone leaves. If the job turns out to be different once we're standing in front of the car, we stop and call you before spending another dollar.
We arrive with the van, the tools and — for common jobs — the parts. You keep your keys, watch the work if you like, and pay by card, e-transfer or cash when it's done. Old parts stay with you.

About
Northern Motorsport started as a one-van operation working out of the Dundas West strip, fixing cars for people who couldn't afford to lose a day to a service department. That's still the whole business model: the customer stays put, the mechanic travels, and nobody sits in a waiting room watching a TV bolted to the ceiling.
We work on the makes that fill Etobicoke driveways — Honda, Toyota, Mazda, Subaru, Ford, Hyundai, Kia, VW, BMW and the usual domestic trucks. We're not a dealership alternative for warranty work, and we'll say so. What we are is the person you call when the car needs to be fixed today, at your house, without a tow bill.
Every job gets the same treatment: measure before replacing, show you the worn part, and quote the next thing honestly even when it's a "not yet." A lot of our work comes from people who were told they needed something they didn't.
